San Francisco is ... gorgeous

25 May Wednesday

Up about 8.30am, but had a slow brekkie (tea and toast) and casual start to the day. The weather was not so lovely today – grey and rainy – so I was taken out by car to look at some of the fantastic murals and mosaics around town and also saw:

Community precincts around town
Windy little street
Coit tower
Golden gate bridge
Ex army park – Presida (have to check spelling when I locate my map.)
Haight area

Then dropped of for gallery visit (Paul Klee and the Stein collection) with Joan, but shut on Weds, so had coffee and chat. Rain finally stopped and I wandered of to check out downtown San Francisco) as they had things to do and were going out for the evening.

Looked at Maiden Lane, some galleries, high end fashion stores, Union Park, and lots of just wandering around taking in the sights. San Francisco is a lovely town and very livable. Of course I didn’t go into any bad areas but what I saw was great.

Had dinner at a Thai place, bought bottle of wine and waited for the F trolley for an hour, then two came together. Found home ok and spent hours on the internet getting organised to get to Vancouver the next day.

Bed about midnight.
